FAQ – Guided tours those data may concern Private tours, Sunset cruises, Fishing tours & Transfers
Can I rent one of those boats on my own?
Despite your qualifications or experience, for insurance reasons and because of the specificities of the lagoon, the boats for private tours* are for rent exclusively with a captain (who is as well your snorkeling guide).
* White Shark, Hermès & Champagne boats
Where do we depart from?
Your captain will meet you, at your convenience: directly for pick up and drop off at your Hotel (main dock), or at the pier, in Vaitape (when coming on a cruise ship for instance).
Our booking agent shall be at disposal for further assistance. Please always mention precisely where you’ll be staying.
To our guests on a cruise ship, you’ll need to get a tender (please consider about 30mn to 1h for pick up time after arrival of the ship). Your boat shall be there, at the pier. Meeting point if you cannot see it: in front of the « Visitor Information Center ».
Can some more passengers join us on the tour?
Our company is specialized in private customized excursions. Unless your request, no other passengers would come aboard. However, if you make friends and would like to share, you’ll be very welcome. Please just specify in advance so that we can confirm your quotation and adapt the equipment aboard.
Which activities are included? How long is an excursion?
The excursions being private, your booking is being set at your convenience. We may recommend you how long depending your expectations.
Your Tahitian guide is at your entire disposal for a cruise around the island including any activity of your choice: snorkeling with rays (mantas, sting & eagle rays), sharks and in the most beautiful coral gardens of Bora Bora.
Your captain is an experienced and qualified snorkeling guide. He shall adapt to your preferences and avoid crowded places (if any). Possibility to go in shallow places, always with a respectful and safe approach of the fauna & flora and at your own pace.
Can we stop on a secluded beach?
Bora Bora’s public beach is in Matira, on the main island. All motus (including outside the Hotels) are private.
You can access a private motu with LA PLAGE on the guided excursions. Many possible options are available. For details, please refer to pages MOTU OPTIONS & TORCHLIGHT DINNER.
Disabled persons
Disabled persons, also equipped with a wheel chair, are very welcome. LA PLAGE is proud offering adapted lagoon excursions on the Champagne boat.
That 31 feet catamaran, thanks to the made to measure pontoon platform, is very spacious and stable, for your comfort. Side doors make it easy to get on board. Also, the bath ladder include a large stairway with hand rails.
The team LA PLAGE is happy answering your needs; please feel free contacting us for further information.
Fishing tours
Inside the lagoon and outside the reef (not deep sea), we practice trolling with lures and catch mainly predators (kingfish, skipjack, tuna, etc).
For any other fishing techniques or specific request, we recommend to require in advance for confirmation.
Please note that fishing is not authorized on self-drive boat rentals (Quintrex & Pontoon boats).
Private transfers
For your information, most of the Hotels offer a shuttle service from and to the airport. We’d recommend to contact the reservation agent of your Hotel for more information.
