❓ FAQ –Shared Tours
🔹 Can you rent a boat without a captain?
No.
The boats for shared excursions (traditional Polynesian canoe or Va a) are only available with a captain-guide, for safety and insurance reasons.
🔹 Where does the excursion begin?
If you are staying at a hotel, departure is from the main dock.
Cruise passengers will be expected at the Vaitape docks (Meeting point: in front of the Tourism Office). Please allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes between the arrival of the cruise ship and the meeting time.
If your place of residence is not accessible by sea, we will set a meeting point that is.
🔹What activities are included for this day?
We offer snorkeling stops, rays/sharks/coral gardens.
Then we will take you to a private motu to enjoy a Polynesian buffet, discover Polynesian craftsmanship, and visit the only salt production in Bora Bora.
Then, your guide will take you back to your place of stay.
🔹How long does the activity last?
The full day lasts about 6 hours.
🔹What time will we be back?
You will be back around 3:30 PM.
🔹What do you provide on board?
We provide masks and snorkels (standard), one beach towel per person, and some refreshing drinks (water, juice & sodas).
🔹What should we take with us?
You can bring beach sandals and something to protect yourself from the sun.
You can also bring equipment for taking photos and videos, but everyone is responsible for their own gear.
The tour is a shared tour, please respect everyone's privacy during photo and video taking.
🔹 Is the boat accessible for people with reduced mobility?
Our boat has a ladder for launching, benches with cushions, and a non-slip surface on the floor.
Furthermore, it is covered by a tarp that spans the length of the boat.
🔹 What is your policy regarding alcohol during the excursion?
For safety reasons on board and during snorkeling, any consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited during the activity.
🔹 I'm not comfortable in the water, can I still go for a boat ride?
We provide life jackets as well as all the necessary equipment for the smooth running of your activity.
This decision must be made by you.
🔹 Can I go on the ride if I get seasick…?
If you are prone to seasickness, we recommend that you take your precautions before coming to participate in the activity.
🔹Can a pregnant person participate in your excursions?
If you have your doctor's permission, we see no objection to you taking the tour.
